S at Hickory Nut Falls
The robin is named Squirt. We spent several months raising him. As he got older, we released him in the backyard. We would call him when it was time to feed him and he would fly down to the deck to eat.
He crashed my 40th birthday party, a few months after we stopped feeding him. Mom was a little dismayed that he chose her plate to land on. The exact quote was, "You poop in my ice cream, bird, and you are dead."
